Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our team at the University of Edinburgh. The successful candidate will be involved in designing experiments and reagents, as well as data analysis, for a BBSRC-funded project on host-parasite interactions biology.

The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Biological Science, computational biology, or a related subject, and strong skills in molecular or computational biology as applied to functional genomics and genetics of host-pathogen interactions. Expertise in parasitology or genome engineering would be an asset.

Your Skills and Attributes:
  • A PhD in a relevant discipline in molecular biology, parasitology, computational biology, or similar
  • Experience in molecular biology methods including sterile cell culture, cloning, and conducting functional assays
  • Experience with R, python, or similar
  • A track record of research outputs commensurate with research experience
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to generate good quality written reports in a timely manner
About the Role:

This is a fixed-term contract position, and the successful candidate will be expected to complete high-quality original research and disseminate the data in refereed papers, conference presentations, and seminars.
