Postdoctoral Research Associate in Ecoimmunology

We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Research Associate to contribute to a BBSRC-funded project investigating disease susceptibility and gut health in the wild through the lens of ecoimmunology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct laboratory research in ecoimmunology, focusing on microbiome analysis, parasitological analysis, gut pathology analysis, and faecal biomarker analyses.
  • Lead research projects, collaborate with team members, and disseminate research findings through conference talks and publications.
  • Develop and implement research protocols, collect and analyze data, and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Work collaboratively as part of an active research team, contributing to a dynamic and supportive environment.
Requirements:
  • PhD (or to be completed within 3 months) in Microbiology, Immunology, Infectious Disease, Parasitology, or Ecology & Evolution.
  • Experience in obtaining and analyzing gut microbiome samples and data.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to perform remote fieldwork involving small rodent live trapping, animal handling, and terminal dissection.
