Job Description: Senior Community Park and Play Ranger

About the Role:


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Community Park and Play Ranger to join our team. As a key member of our Arts, Parks and Events team, you will be responsible for leading and managing the delivery of high-quality park and play services across Tower Hamlets. Your primary focus will be on supervising Community Park Rangers and Play Leaders, ensuring the effective delivery of regular and seasonal activities and programmes for children.


Main Responsibilities:



  • Supervise and support the Community Park Rangers and Play Leaders in the delivery of park and play services.
  • Act as Duty Manager for the Parks and Open Spaces service on weekend days and as per the rota.
  • Lead on Adventure Play facilities and activities, ensuring they meet the needs of local children and families.
  • Work across multiple parks in Tower Hamlets, maintaining a visible and approachable presence in parks and play areas.
  • Communicate effectively with users, providing information and support as necessary in all weather conditions.
  • Plan, provide support, and lead small-scale events, play programmes, and activities for children, families, and volunteers.
  • Maintain the infrastructure of parks and play areas, undertaking cleaning, gardening, repairs, and maintenance as required, and monitoring security.
  • Support the development and delivery of park improvement projects, ensuring the health and safety of the public using our facilities.

  • Knowledge of park and play services, with experience of developing and delivering programmes for children and families.
  • A can-do attitude, with a willingness to take on new challenges and work flexibly.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritising tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures, with experience of maintaining safe and clean environments.
