Physiotherapy Oncology Clinical Lead

We are seeking an experienced Physiotherapy Oncology Clinical Lead to join our team at our state-of-the-art cancer care centre in Elstree. As a senior member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in providing tailored exercise medicine assessment and prescription for patients with cancer.
About the RoleThis is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated individual to make a real difference in the lives of our patients. As a Physiotherapy Oncology Clinical Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the exercise clinic, ensuring risk assessments are completed, and providing clinical supervision and support to the Exercise Clinic Assistant.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years postgraduate experience or equivalent clinical experience at a Band 6 level, working predominately with patients in oncology. They will also have experience of teaching and supervising less experienced staff, demonstrated ability to work autonomously, and use their own initiative.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the exercise clinic and ensure risk assessments are completed for all patients
- Provide clinical supervision and support to the Exercise Clinic Assistant
- Responsible for accurate data collection and ensure that all patient documentation is updated in a timely manner, in accordance with HCPC standards of proficiency and GCUK policy
- Collate and present data about the service, using data to recommend improvements and service development
- Minimum of 3 years postgraduate experience or equivalent clinical experience at a Band 6 level, working predominately with patients in oncology
- Experience of teaching and supervising less experienced staff
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and use own initiative
- Motivational Interviewing/Behaviour Change training
- Experience of multidisciplinary and interagency working
- Experience of clinical audit and/or research
- Evidence of active involvement in service development & contribution to change within the workplace
- Evidence of advanced clinical reasoning and the management of complex cases
- Evidence of understanding the skills required for service development and evaluation
- Demonstrate effective communication skills to a range of audiences e.g. patients, carers and other professionals
- Ability to prioritise own workload and that of others and effective time management
- Experience of working effectively and efficiently as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of quality assurance and audit programmes in line with requirements for Clinical Governance
- Ability to demonstrate self-direction in thought and practice
- Knowledge of research and development process
