Job Title: Band 7 Children and Young People Specialist Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced practitioner to join our team as a specialist in vulnerable children and families. The role will involve providing expert advice and support to teams across Birmingham and Solihull, ensuring that children and young people receive high-quality care.

The post holder will work closely with other health colleagues, the police, and social workers to develop skills and competence as a Children's Safeguarding Practitioner. They will participate in the MASH risk assessment and contribute to case management of children at risk of harm.

The estimated annual salary for this role is around £56,000-£62,000, based on location and experience. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience of managing complex caseloads involving child protection issues, including mental health or acute provider hospital experience.

Responsibilities include:

  • Participating in the MASH risk assessment and contributing to case management of children at risk of harm.
  • Providing specialist safeguarding supervision to health professionals on issues related to safeguarding children.
  • Supporting frontline practitioners in developing and analysing case chronologies and producing factual reports.

Qualifications required include current NMC registration, evidence of recent post-basic training, and ongoing personal development. A teaching qualification or equivalent is also essential.
