SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with additional needs in primary schools across Portsmouth.

This is a flexible role, allowing you to choose your working days and offering a balance between a fulfilling job and personal flexibility.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a variety of primary schools across Portsmouth, supporting children with autism (ASD), speech and language difficulties, and complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide 1:1 and group support for children with SEN, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their goals.
  2. Assist in implementing tailored learning and behaviour plans for pupils with a range of needs.
  3. Support pupils' emotional and social development, encouraging independence and confidence.
  4. Adapt to new settings quickly, bringing energy and a proactive approach to each school you work in.

Requirements:

  1. Experience in SEN: Previous experience supporting children with SEN, particularly in autism and other complex needs.
  2. Strong Communication Skills: Confidence in working closely with staff, pupils, and parents to ensure cohesive support.
  3. Variety: Work across multiple SEN units in Portsmouth, gaining diverse experiences in primary school settings.
  4. Competitive Pay: £80-£100 per day, based on experience and responsibilities.

**Salary:** The salary for this role is £85 per day, depending on experience and qualifications. This represents a competitive rate, reflective of the skills and experience required to excel in this position.
