About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Associate to join our team in the Memory Laboratory at the University of Cambridge. The successful candidate will work alongside our experienced researchers to investigate the subjective experience of remembering and the associated brain mechanisms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct behavioural and functional neuroimaging experiments in younger and older adults investigating the cognitive and brain mechanisms of vividness.
  • Analyse memory narratives pertaining to vividness in iconic literary moments and historical episodes from the early modern era.
  • Collaborate with our interdisciplinary team to discuss and co-design the research, developing a common understanding that bridges the conceptual and terminological frameworks of each discipline.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in psychology, cognitive neuroscience, or related disciplines.
  • Strong interest in human long-term memory processes, demonstrated by first-authored peer-reviewed publications.
  • Previous experience conducting and analysing data from behavioural studies and functional neuroimaging (fMRI) experiments.
  • Excellent organisational skills, highly motivated, and ability to communicate effectively.
