Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse/Community Psychiatric Nurse to join our Crisis Home Treatment Team as a Deputy Ward Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative service, delivering high-quality care to patients with acute mental health symptoms.

Main Duties of the Job

The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to develop and provide a range of support to patients and their relatives. This will involve working effectively at a range of levels and situations, with a focus on service development and expansion. The post holder will require excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as the ability to work with a complex and changing service.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Education/Qualification: RMN, current registration, evidence of continued development
  • Experience: managing acute mental illness, previous Band 5 post, case management, strong clinical leadership, audit processes
  • Knowledge: Mental Health Act, Mental Health/Diagnosis, Risk Assessment, Capacity/DolS/ Infection Control
  • Skills/Personal Qualities: Interpersonal skills, willingness for professional development, ability to manage emergency situations, self-motivated
