About the Role

This is an exciting new opportunity to progress within an operational capacity within NELFT North East London Foundation Trust. We are seeking enthusiastic registered professionals who can undertake the role of Team Lead within the Mental Health Support Teams (MHST). The successful candidate will work closely with the Operational Manager and Clinical Lead to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to children and adolescents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide operational and clinical leadership within the MHST, ensuring the team meets operational and clinical targets.
  • Line manage clinical staff within the MHST, promoting a positive and supportive team culture.
  • Facilitate the development of a positive and supportive team culture by taking responsibility for dealing effectively with potential conflict.
  • Take an active interest in working parties and groups within the Trust to develop and improve on service delivery, protocols, and guidelines.
  • Participate in the audit process, linking in with the clinical governance agenda.
  • Advise, encourage, and share knowledge utilizing the latest research and practice development, through literature and peer reviews.
  • Ensure that a high-quality, timely, accessible, and evidence-based service is available to all service users who need it and who use the MHST.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of a graduate training (nursing, social work, occupational therapy, clinical psychology) with appropriate registration of a professional body (HCPC, NMC).
  • Further professional knowledge gained through accredited courses, workshops, study, and in-house training programs (CYP-IAPT training).
  • Experience of working with children/young people with Mental Health or Learning Disabilities, providing specialist, evidence-based individual interventions with a wide variety of children and young people, from 3 to 19 years old.
  • Experience in delivering evidence-based interventions (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy).
  • Knowledge of legislation in relation to children and adolescents and safeguarding procedures and policies.
  • Knowledge of risk management and ability to monitor and assess risk and act accordingly to ensure safety.
