Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Regulatory Legal Director to lead our EMEA market expansion efforts. As a key member of our global legal and compliance leadership team, you will navigate complex regulatory landscapes and ensure compliance with licensing and regulatory requirements in the EMEA region.

Main Responsibilities

  • You will advise internal stakeholders on regulatory matters throughout the EMEA region.
  • Mitigate legal and regulatory risks while progressing business objectives.
  • Support license maintenance activities including regulatory reports, requests for information, and regulatory exams.
  • Review and update manuals, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Manage and grow the regional Airwallex counsel team across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Support government relations outreach to legislators and regulatory agencies.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A qualified lawyer with 10+ years of post-qualification experience.
  • Strong regulatory experience in the fintech industry, reputable law firms, or financial institutions.
  • Sound knowledge of the financial services regulatory environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to deal with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proactive, results-driven, and takes ownership of work.
  • Ability to multi-task and a team player with strong communication skills.

Salary Information

The estimated salary range for this position is between $120,000 and $180,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive compensation package that includes benefits, bonuses, and opportunities for professional growth.
