Academic Mentor for Special Needs

We are seeking an Academic Mentor for Special Needs to work in a Pupil Referral Unit in South Birmingham. This is a full-time position until the end of the academic year 2025, offering an estimated salary of £30,000-£40,000 per annum.
The successful candidate will have experience working with students with diverse needs, including ADHD, SEMH, EBD, Dyslexia, and others. They will be responsible for developing and implementing individualised learning plans, managing behaviour effectively, and contributing to whole-school initiatives and policies.
The ideal candidate will have excellent subject knowledge, utilise resources effectively, and maintain high attainment levels for students. Strong communication skills, flexibility around school working routines, and a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Key Stage 1 and 2 curriculum
- Develop and implement individualised learning plans
- Manage behaviour effectively
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and other professionals
- Contribute to whole-school initiatives and policies
