Job Description: As a Mental Health Advocate for Education, you will work closely with students, teachers, and families to provide individualized support and promote emotional well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer one-on-one and group support to students with SEN and SEMH needs, helping them build emotional resilience and well-being.
  • Assist students in developing coping strategies for managing stress, anxiety, and other emotional challenges.
  • Help students develop social and emotional skills to thrive in the school environment.
  • Work closely with teachers, special educational staff, and parents to create and implement individualized support plans.
  • Encourage positive behavior, self-confidence, and independence among students.
  • Support students in managing their mental health needs and provide a safe, supportive space when required.

Requirements:

  • A genuine passion for supporting students with SEN and SEMH needs.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with students.
  • Patience, empathy, and a non-judgmental approach to supporting young people.
  • Ability to implement tailored support strategies and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience in supporting students with SEN/SEMH or in a similar well-being or educational role is highly desirable.
  • A commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive learning environment for all students.
