Job Title: Clinical Outcome Secretary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Clinical Outcome Secretary to join our team at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Outcome Secretary, you will play a crucial role in delivering the full Clinic on the Day process for the Division of Community.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Typing and distributing clinic letters to patients
  • Uploading clinic letters into Medisec and sending copies to GPs as needed
  • Negotiating appointments with patients in clinic where appropriate
  • Booking appointments where necessary
  • Negotiating radiology and diagnostic investigation dates and communicating with patients
  • Validating patient pathways in real-time
  • Completing tasks and booking out clinics in real-time
  • Liaising with the Personal Medical Secretary and Scheduling Manager regarding patient pathways and appointments
About the Role:

This is a part-time position working between Monday and Friday. As a Clinical Outcome Secretary, you will be working as part of a team of General Medical Secretaries, providing administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of clinics.

Person Specification:
  • Advanced keyboard skills
  • Ability to meet travel requirements of the role
  • Experience working in a busy office environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • IT systems and software packages
  • Previous NHS experience desirable
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills to Level 1 or equivalent
  • English GCSE or equivalent
  • NVQ Level 3/RSA III Typewriting/Word processing or equivalent experience
