Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a part-time Clinical Pathway Coordinator to join our team at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and providing administrative support to the Vascular and Cardio-Vascular multidisciplinary team.
Main Responsibilities
The main duties of the role will be to compile a list of patients for discussion during the Vascular MDT and attend the meetings. The successful candidate will also be responsible for coordinating meetings, dates, rooms, and agendas and documenting MDT discussions in Medtech. Additionally, they will provide updates on patients' pathways and ensure all MDT outcomes are acted upon by working with the vascular secretarial team.
About the Role
The Clinical Pathway Coordinator will work closely with consultants, personal medical secretaries, directorate managers, and the Cancer Services team to ensure all patients are managed within 18 weeks/national waiting times. They will also be responsible for using the Trust's Launchpad to review and monitor patient pathways, working with information services and the performance team to ensure robust processes are in place to monitor and highlight performance for the directorate.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will have excellent organisational skills, be extremely efficient, and be able to work under pressure as part of a large team. They will also have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and have a basic understanding of the 18 week RTT standard and application of rules through strict guidance. Additionally, they will have experience of working closely with clinicians of varying seniority and have a basic knowledge of using healthcare databases, healthcare systems, and procedures.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have a Level 3 Qualification in a relevant subject or relevant experience. They will also have a basic understanding of the principles and practice of risk management and have experience of using computerised databases. Additionally, they will have a basic knowledge of statistics and have experience of working within a clinical audit, quality evaluation, research, or risk management setting.
