About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electronics Technician to join our team at Heriot-Watt University Malaysia. As an Electronics Technician Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting our research activities by providing expert technical knowledge and skills in electronics design, construction, and fabrication.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing technical support to researchers and students on electronic equipment and systems;
  • Maintaining and upgrading existing laboratory equipment and instrumentation;
  • Designing, constructing, and testing new electronic systems and prototypes;
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and standards;
  • Collaborating with colleagues to develop and implement new research projects and initiatives.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Electronics or a related field (e.g., Electrical Engineering);
  • At least 5 years of experience in electronics design, construction, and fabrication;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Experience with electronic test and measurement equipment, circuit design software, and CAD tools.
Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is RM120,000 - RM180,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits including medical insurance, retirement plan, and paid annual leave.
