Job Title: Propulsion Systems Engineer

Orbex Space is seeking a highly skilled Propulsion Systems Engineer to join our team in Forres, Scotland. As a key member of our propulsion team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing advanced propulsion systems for our micro-launch vehicle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop propulsion system components, including turbomachinery and cryogenic main engines.
  • Plan and execute propulsion system tests, including hot-fire tests and component-level testing.
  • Develop and refine test and qualification plans, procedures, and operating manuals.
  • Analyze test data and prepare/conduct Test Readiness Reviews and Post-Test Reviews.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate propulsion systems with other vehicle components.
Requirements:
  • Strong background in mechanical engineering, with experience in propulsion systems design and development.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD tools, as well as MS Office tools.
  • Ability to work outdoors, regardless of weather conditions.
