Orbex is seeking an experienced Deputy Head of Systems to act as the responsible systems engineer for a full stage of the Orbex Prime Launch Vehicle. The successful candidate will have significant experience as a system authority for a highly complex and multidisciplinary product, such as spacecraft, launch vehicles, defence, or aviation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the responsible systems engineer for a full stage of the Orbex Prime Launch Vehicle
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the systems team
  • Collaborate with the Head of Department to set and implement strategic goals
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and manage projects in the absence of the Head of Department

Requirements:

  • Significant experience as a system authority for a highly complex and multidisciplinary product
  • Experience in mechanical systems, flight structures, avionics, complex electronics, and propulsion systems
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in an international, diverse, and multicultural environment
