About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Deputy Director of Systems Engineering to join our team at Orbex Space. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the development of our Orbex Prime launch vehicle, ensuring that it meets the highest standards of quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as Systems Authority for a complete stage of Orbex Prime, responsible for the overall system design and integration.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Systems Engineering team, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and to budget.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Department to set and implement strategic goals, ensuring that the team is aligned with the company's overall vision.
  • Support and guide teams within the department, assisting in managing performance and productivity.
  • Contribute to maintaining quality standards and compliance, working in alignment with the Head of Department's vision.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in systems engineering, with a strong background in propulsion, structure, avionics, and integrated stage testing.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on delivering results.
