Job Title: Educational Support Professional

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Educational Support Professional to join our team at Newbattle High School. As a Learning Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with Additional Support Needs (ASN) to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist pupils with ASN in a variety of settings, including classrooms, playgrounds, and outdoor areas
  • Provide individualized support to pupils with complex needs, including those with physical, sensory, or learning disabilities
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans for pupils with ASN
  • Contribute to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes social interaction and emotional well-being among all pupils

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications in Early Years Care and Education or equivalent
  • Experience working with children with ASN, preferably in a school setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with pupils, parents, and colleagues
  • Prior experience with PVG Scheme membership for Regulated Work with Children is essential
