About the Role

In this key position, you will be a key player in pre-sales, technical solutions, and product strategy. The company is a top-ranked wind turbine manufacturer globally with over 22 GW of installed capacity worldwide, currently seeking a seasoned Energy Storage Solutions Director to head up their UK operations.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with Sales teams for sales initiation, technical support, and value engineering;
  • Being responsible for RFPs and assessing project scope and risk;
  • Holding technical presentations and clarifying customer queries;
  • Translating client requirements into Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) design;
  • Accurately costing and conducting financial analysis;
  • Overseeing and submitting technical tender responses within deadlines;
  • Following up on previous submissions and analyzing outcomes;
  • Studying the competitive landscape for ongoing development;
  • Using insights to influence product development based on customer needs;
  • Collaborating with customers to negotiate and finalize contracts;
  • Developing tools and processes to improve tender response efficiency;
Qualifications and Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Energy Engineering;
  • Fluency in business and technical English;
  • At least 5 years of experience, preferably with a DNO or TSO;
  • Knowledge of battery systems, controls systems, and grid connections;
  • Familiarity with grid operator processes;
  • A solid understanding of BESS system regulations and standards;
  • Experience in designing utility-scale energy storage systems;
  • The ability to size Power Converter Systems and battery systems;
  • A strong familiarity with design concepts related to protection, sizing, thermal systems, etc.

We estimate the salary for this position to be around £80,000 - £120,000 per annum, depending on experience. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Solutions Director to join a rapidly growing global leader in the renewable energy sector.
