Role Summary

This role sits within the European Consumer & Market Intelligence (EO CMI) team, which exists to understand the overall consumer relationship with the Samsung brand. We build our understanding of the consumer at x-category level and find opportunities to x-sell across our product categories that have genuine appeal to consumers.

The team builds and centralised insight programmes for the benefit of all European subsidiaries. We use a central approach with research agency partners to get the best commercial terms and share CMI standard process across the region. We are a Centre of Excellence – continuously looking for improvements to aid the entire region.

This role will be responsible for leading cross-category insights across our Smartphone, TV and Digital Appliances categories. The role will also lead insight into significant consumer events unrelated to product categories.

Reporting to the Head of MX & Brand Insights, you will own brand research requirements, working in close collaboration with the Campaign Operations Manager on Campaign Insights. You will also work with both the wider Market Insights & Category Insights teams.

You will support business partners, including HQ, European Marketing, Regional Product Managers and Local European Markets, and become a “go-to” specialist for all primary brand and campaign insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Defining, running and delivering brand and campaign research, including brand tracking, segmentation, concept testing and proposition development.
  • Synthesise data from multiple sources, e.g. trends, market intelligence, social, to build a complete consumer view and drive the use of insights into the business.
  • Act as liaison between HQ teams, EO and local markets; sharing HQ generated insight to drive local markets and EO to engage and act on HQ provided data/insights.
  • Take a proactive lead to guide the business in understanding and reacting to key insights.

Requirements

  • An insight professional with experience of primary research project management within a consumer focused business.
  • A passion for understanding what makes consumers tick and inspiring others to do the same.
  • Ability to design insight programmes to flexibility meet business challenges.
  • Strong analytical and storytelling skills – taking data from various sources (quantitative, qualitative, continuous and ad-hoc), and building it into simple, clear and compelling stories in order to produce tangible and meaningful insight.
  • Experience of drawing insight learnings from Social consumer data.
  • Experience of partner agency management and relationship building.
  • Pragmatic approach to working, delivering at speed but at the same time ensuring quality.
  • Strong inter-personal, influencing and networking skills.
  • Confident communicator with ability to challenge and probe teams to ensure decisions make good business sense.
  • Highly organised; able to prioritise and effectively communicate plans.
  • Rigorous attention to detail and strong focus on accuracy.
