Position Summary

Samsung is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Retail Business Manager to join our European Visual Office (EVO) team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing guidance, coordination, and leadership on behalf of our HQ in Suwon and in support of our Subsidiaries across Europe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and forecast meaningful metrics by Key Account, establish a deep understanding of business performance, and find opportunities for growth.
  • Liaise with Subsidiary Key Account Managers and broader teams to understand, align, and guide product strategies.
  • Support Quarterly Business Reviews with customers, be responsible for the preparation of insights and recommendations for practical initiatives to drive performance.
  • Share monthly sales performance reports vs target, identifying root cause for gaps, raising potential issues, and recommending appropriate actions.
  • Drive customer-specific initiatives and supervise execution, e.g., pan-EU promotions.
  • Engage with EU Customers at Mid-Senior Level as required and support discussions.

New Channel/Operators Development

  • Act as the business lead for opening up new channels for Samsung's TV/AV category, develop Business Development strategies and plans in alignment with business goals, and support Subsidiaries in execution.
  • Monitor trends and developments in the European retail landscape, assess its impact on our business, and develop an approach to identifying and prioritizing target partners to uncover new business opportunities.
  • Drive recruitment of partners in alignment with EVO Strategy and GTM Plans, find opportunities for European collaborations in new channels, and independently engage with Mid-Senior Level of potential partners to progress the collaborations and define the European initiatives for local execution.
  • Utilize excellent stakeholder management skills to build strong relationships with local Subsidiaries, track local efforts to open new channels/grow in Operators channel, identify validated business models, and support Subsidiaries in expanding standard processes.
  • Be responsible for maintaining weekly/monthly/quarterly reports and ensuring deadlines are met when requested.

Market Sensing & Executive Reporting

  • Track market, competitor, channel developments, and share with the wider organization your assessment on short and long-term implications to the business.
  • Support the EVO Team to develop content for executive presentations, customer meetings, Subsidiary workshops, and Subsidiary-specific performance reviews.

Skills and Qualifications

What we need for this role

  • Demonstrated ability in a commercial/product management role – ideally in a multi-cultural/Pan-European environment.
  • Strong understanding of the European retail landscape is required, and good understanding of retail critical metrics is preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate with channel partners, internal account managers, product management, and marketing departments.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to network and handle a diverse set of team members across international cultures.
  • Outstanding attention to detail, with the ability to simultaneously balance multiple complex work streams across a large matrix organization.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to evaluate quantitative and qualitative data sets and distill to clear and concise insights that inform commercially valid proposals.
  • Excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills are required.
  • Being self-motivated; can work well independently but also cooperate well with others.
  • Being passionate about technology and wanting to make a difference.
  • Frequent traveling will be required.

  • Independently delivering insights and recommendations on commercial performance and opportunities for the business.
  • Becoming familiar with internal tools, reports, dashboards, and working with the team to improve reporting and insights.
  • Developing relationships with the country teams to guide them on strategic direction but also formulating market and competitive insights.
  • Drive business improvement via expansion of standard processes, best practices, and acceleration of initiatives in retail.
