This may involve activities such as going for a walk, going for lunch, or assisting with organised activities like horse riding or shopping.

You'll find this role highly rewarding and enjoyable.

There will be an introductory period for you to get to know the person we support and for them to get to know you, helping to build trust. Our experienced team at our service in Maidstone will provide support during this period.

Key Skills Required

  • To be punctual and reliable
  • To be kind, empathetic, and patient
  • To be able to deal with information in line with our data protection and confidentiality procedures
  • To be able to assist when necessary with sighted guide/orientation

Please note that you must be over the age of 18 to apply for this role.

To apply, please click on the 'apply' button below and complete the application form. Upon receipt of your application, a member of our friendly Volunteering Team will contact you for an informal chat and to explain the next steps.

To ensure the safety of the people we support, we require a DBS check and two satisfactory references before a volunteer role is confirmed. As you will be volunteering directly with vulnerable individuals, you will also be required to undertake safeguarding training, as well as any training specific to the role.
