Acorn by Synergie is seeking a Health and Safety Manager to champion health and safety initiatives in a chemical manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Factory Manager and be responsible for ensuring the implementation of a corporate health and safety strategy at site level, ensuring legal compliance and maintaining company standards.

The role involves interacting regularly with facility managers, supervisors, and plant employees, providing advice and guidance on health, safety, and security matters.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Lead health and safety legislative and regulatory matters, liaising with necessary organizations.
  2. Develop, review, and update the H&S Management System and health, safety, and security procedures.
  3. Conduct workplace risk assessments and contribute to root cause analysis for accidents and incidents.
  4. Lead internal audits and resolve site issues, implementing new methods and techniques as necessary.
  5. Prepare regular reports on safety performance and departmental KPIs.

The successful candidate must have previous experience working in a similar Health and Safety Manager/Specialist role, ideally in a chemical manufacturing background.

A NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent is essential for this position. Bachelor's Degree (in a relevant discipline) preferred. Thorough knowledge of H&S laws, regulations, practice, and standards is required.
