About the Role

The Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for promoting a positive safety culture and championing industry best practices within the BYK Additives Ltd. (UK) site. This will involve interacting with internal and external personnel to deliver a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement health and safety procedures and systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop method statements to manage internal activities.
  • Support line management in ensuring adherence to health and safety procedures and policies.
  • Lead a contractor health and safety review for all long-standing third-party personnel.
  • Provide training and coaching to colleagues on health and safety procedures and systems.
  • Collaborate with the Environmental Manager to ensure effective implementation of EHS management systems and policies.
  • Develop and maintain procedures and systems for certification to ISO 45001, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001.
  • Champion near miss and incident reporting, providing coaching for first-line investigation and closure.
  • Conduct audits and reviews to ensure adherence to health and safety procedures and policies, including Permit to Work (PTW) and Management of Change (MOC).
