Job Title: Health Protection Nurse/Practitioner

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced registered nurse or an appropriately registered practitioner or allied health professional to join our All-Wales Health Protection Team. The successful candidate will work in partnership with other members of the Health Protection Team and the wider Health Protection Division in the surveillance, prevention and control of a range of infectious diseases and other health protection issues.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Act as a key member of the national All-Wales Acute Response (AWARe) service, delivering the acute health protection response and providing health protection advice to other health professionals and members of the public.
  • Work with Senior Health Protection (Nurses/Practitioners) and Consultants on planned proactive work at a local and regional level, collaborating with other agencies in the provision of a specialist health protection service for the population of Wales.
  • Participate in delivering the out-of-hours service, which runs Monday to Sunday, including bank holidays.

Requirements:

  • Appropriate registration as outlined in the person specification.
  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant subject.
  • Experience in health protection or infection prevention and control.
  • Experience of multidisciplinary team working.
  • Experience of dealing with sensitive or difficult situations.
