Job Summary
The Nationwide Foundation is seeking an experienced External Affairs Specialist to join our team. This role will focus on supporting the Foundation's policy and public affairs engagement with various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have experience in policy or public affairs, with strong analytical and communication skills. You will be responsible for maintaining and updating the stakeholder database, monitoring the external environment, and providing administrative support for influencing activities.

About the Role
As an External Affairs Specialist, you will work closely with the External Affairs Manager and Programme Team to support the Foundation's policy and public affairs engagement. You will maintain and update the stakeholder database, monitor the external environment, and provide administrative support for influencing activities. You will also assist in preparing briefings for colleagues ahead of meetings with key stakeholders, draft responses to government consultations, and identify opportunities to influence policy decisions.

Key Responsibilities
• Maintain and update the stakeholder database
• Monitor the external environment and stay up-to-date with policy, parliamentary, and sector developments
• Prepare briefings for colleagues ahead of meetings with key stakeholders
• Provide administrative support for influencing activities, including managing events and arranging meetings and roundtables
• Digest and interpret complex information, then communicate it clearly and concisely in appropriate formats
• Draft and coordinate responses to government consultations, in collaboration with programme managers
• Identify and act on opportunities to influence policy decisions

We offer a competitive salary range of £38,000 - £48,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
