Job Overview

Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Elderly Care Medicine to join our team of forward-thinking Ageing & Complex Medicine Consultants. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering and developing our modern and comprehensive Elderly Care service.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading and managing a team of healthcare professionals, and contributing to the development of our Elderly Care service. You will work closely with our clinical director and divisional management team to build and develop your area of interest.

Key Requirements

  • CCT - Dual accreditation in GIM and Geriatric Medicine
  • Recent comprehensive experience in Geriatric Medicine
  • Entry on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT
  • MRCP (or equivalent)
  • Full GMC with licence to practice
  • MB ChB or equivalent

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to training and teaching junior medical staff and other health professionals, as well as the ability to work in a flexible manner. You will be a proactive and self-motivated individual who is able to work as part of a team.
