About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Consultant in Elderly Care Medicine to join our team at Wrightington Wigan & Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care in the Acute Care of Elderly unit, with a focus on comprehensive geriatric medicine and sub-specialties such as Stroke Medicine, Ortho Geriatrics, and Frailty Services.
  • Contribute to the development of Acute Medical services within the trust, with a focus on proactive case management, advance care planning, and support for the community team.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective, and dignified care to patients.
  • Participate in on-call rota, if applicable, and contribute to the development of the team's expertise in Acute Comprehensive Geriatric Medicine and sub-specialties.
Requirements
  • Recent comprehensive experience in Geriatric Medicine.
  • MRCP (or equivalent) and full GMC with licence to practice.
  • MB ChB or equivalent.
  • Commitment to training and teaching junior medical staff and other health professionals.
  • Ability to work in a flexible manner.
