About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Meeting & Events Operations Supervisor to join our team at Leonardo Royal Hotel Southampton Grand Harbour. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our meeting and events spaces, providing exceptional customer service, and contributing to the overall success of our hotel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the activities of the Meeting & Events Operations team, ensuring they are aware of their responsibilities and performing duties to a high standard.
  • Be familiar with the day's business, restaurant, and conference bookings, preparing the team, department, and ensuring a seamless experience for our guests.
  • Serve food and drinks, providing excellent customer service, and being a role model to the team, demonstrating great hospitality.
  • Have a visible presence within the hotel, responding promptly and effectively to customer requests and queries, and maintaining a clean and tidy environment.
  • Deal with guest complaints in a friendly and efficient manner, ensuring guest satisfaction at all times.
  • Train and motivate team members, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to provide exceptional service.
  • Ensure all cash, charge, float, and till procedures are carried out correctly.

Requirements

  • Supervisory experience or a strong Meeting & Events team member looking to take on additional responsibility.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with guests and colleagues.
  • Flexibility to work different shift patterns, including weekends and evenings.
  • The ability to recognize what our customers want and need, and provide it.
  • Good people skills, with the ability to work well in a team.
  • A genuine interest in providing hospitality to our customers.
  • Confidence with systems and taking payments.
  • The ability to work well under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
