Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team at University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to work in cancer care, providing psychological support to individuals and their families.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing relationships with multidisciplinary teams, identifying and supporting people affected by cancer, and providing evidence-based Level 4 psychological support services.

This is a full-time position, but we also consider part-time or job share arrangements. The ideal candidate will have post-graduate doctoral training in clinical psychology, HCPC registration, and experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care and treatment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing relationships with cancer multidisciplinary teams and ward-based clinicians to identify and support people affected by cancer
  • Providing evidence-based Level 4 psychological support services to individuals, couples, and families affected by cancer
  • Influencing the treatment environment to support trauma-informed care
  • Supporting the emotional impact of work on healthcare clinicians where necessary

Person Specification:

  • Post-graduate doctoral training in clinical or counselling psychology as accredited by the BPS
  • HCPC registered practitioner psychologist
  • Experience of working as a qualified clinical or counselling psychologist
  • Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care and treatment

Estimated Salary: £45,000 - £70,000 per annum.
