About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate midwife to join our dynamic team at Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust. As a member of our Maternity Team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in midwifery, excellent clinical skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care. You will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to provide individualized care to patients, from antenatal through to postnatal periods.

This role offers the chance to develop your skills and expertise, working alongside our renowned Learning and Development Team, which includes a Practice Development Midwife, Clinical Skills Facilitators, and a Fetal Monitoring Specialist Midwife.

We offer a comprehensive induction program, as well as regular training opportunities, ensuring that you stay up-to-date with the latest best practices and developments in midwifery.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-standard patient care in the antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal periods
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, and colleagues
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes
  • Contribute to the development of new staff members through mentorship and preceptorship

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Registered Midwife with the NMC
  • Evidence of ongoing continuing professional development, linked to demonstrable clinical competencies
  • Basic Life Support certification

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • Possession of a relevant degree or studying towards
  • Assessing and mentoring qualification/B5 expectation
  • Evidence of Alternative Therapies training/within training
  • Newborn Life Support certification
  • NIPE certification
