About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 6 Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Mental Health Liaison Services, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to patients with complex mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assessment, intervention, and referral services for patients with alcohol use disorders.
  • Offer advice to medical and nursing staff on acute detoxification for physically dependent patients.
  • Support hospital colleagues in making decisions about treatment and care in complex situations.
  • Provide education and clinical supervision to registered and unregistered staff.
  • Represent mental health services within the hospitals.
  • Facilitate communication between secondary mental health services, primary care, and non-statutory services.

Person Specification
  • Professional Health or Care Qualification (MHSW, SROT, RMHN, RNLD).
  • Experience of teaching, assessing, and developing informal and formal training programs.
  • Significant proven post-qualifying experience of working with adults with physical and mental health needs.
  • Experience of working in a general hospital setting.
