Dietetic Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic individual to join our dynamic team as a Dietetic Assistant. This exciting opportunity will enable you to develop your skills in dietetics while working in a range of hospital outpatient, inpatient, and community settings.
The post holder will have the opportunity to work with patients in various clinical settings, including hospital wards, clinics, and community centers. You may be required to provide cover at Scunthorpe Hospital, providing flexibility and adaptability in your role.

Main Duties of the Job
1. Assist dietitians in carrying out dietetic programs as directed, using skilled support work.
2. Implement programs as directed by the dietitian, progressing agreed programs without direct supervision when required.
3. Work with patients and carers in various settings, including acute, community, or outpatient settings.
4. Communicate effectively with patients and carers, using verbal and non-verbal communication tools to progress dietetic therapy.
5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team.
6. Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient treatment records according to Trust and professional standards.
7. Ensure clinical skills are maintained through clinical supervision and continuing education.
8. Provide education and training as delegated.
9. Participate in the induction, training of students, and other staff as appropriate.
10. Contribute to the ongoing development of services.
