Clinical Coding Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Clinical Coder to join our Clinical Coding Department at Barts Health NHS Trust. As a Specialist Clinical Coder, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of clinical coding data, which is essential for healthcare planning, research, and service improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Abstract clinical data from patient records and translate it into diagnostic (ICD10) and procedure (OPCS) coding classifications.
- Work collaboratively with clinicians to ensure accurate and consistent coding practices.
- Develop and maintain a high level of knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of coding policies and procedures.
- Accredited Clinical Coding Qualification (e.g., NCCQ).
- Extensive experience in clinical coding, preferably in an acute setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure.
- Flexibility to work across all Barts Health Hospital sites.
