Clinical Coding Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Clinical Coder to join our team at Barts Health NHS Trust. As a Specialist Clinical Coder, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of clinical coding data, which is essential for healthcare planning, research, and service improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Abstract clinical data from patient records and translate it into diagnostic and procedure coding classifications
- Work collaboratively with clinicians to ensure accurate and consistent coding practices
- Develop and maintain a high level of expertise in clinical coding standards and practices
- Contribute to the development and implementation of coding policies and procedures
- Accredited Clinical Coding Qualification (e.g. NCCQ)
- Extensive experience in clinical coding, preferably in an acute setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work across all hospital sites and adapt to changing priorities
