Clinical Coding Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Coding Specialist to join our team at Barts Health NHS Trust. As a Clinical Coding Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of clinical coding data, which is essential for healthcare planning, research, and patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Abstract clinical data from patient records and translate it into diagnostic and procedure coding classifications
- Work collaboratively with clinicians to ensure accurate and consistent coding practices
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of national clinical-coding standards and practices
- Contribute to the development and implementation of coding policies and procedures
- Provide training and support to colleagues on coding practices and procedures
- Accredited Clinical Coding Qualification
- Experience in clinical coding, preferably in an acute setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work across multiple sites and adapt to changing priorities
