About the Role

Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Specialist Clinical Coder to join our Clinical Coding Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely coding of complex acute specialties, ensuring that our data meets national standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Abstract clinical data from patient records and translate it into diagnostic and procedure coding classifications
  • Work collaboratively with clinicians to ensure accurate coding and adherence to national standards
  • Develop and maintain a high level of knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of coding policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Accredited Clinical Coding Qualification (NCCQ) or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work across all Barts Health Hospital sites
