About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Agile Software Delivery Director, where you will play a key role in guiding our teams to deliver valuable outcomes. You will be responsible for ensuring that our teams have everything they need to succeed and are adopting agile methodologies.

You will work closely with skilled engineers, product managers, stakeholders, and customers to deliver unparalleled solutions that enhance our current offerings and elevate customer experience and drive business growth.

The role of Agile Software Delivery Director is key to our continued push toward product-orientated development teams delivering fantastic software to our customers. This role is within our vehicle telematics business and involves collaborating with various departments to remove impediments and increase flow of delivery.

Responsibilities:
  • Focusing on making things happen by ensuring our teams have everything they need to succeed while being accountable for the delivery of products and services.
  • Agile and Lean ways of working by coaching and mentoring both team members and others to apply the most appropriate agile and lean tools and techniques.
  • Acting as the administrator of the scrum/kanban board, ensuring the cards are up-to-date, and tools (Jira / Shortcut) are functioning well.
  • Striving for continuous improvement by analysing burndown charts and portfolio planning tools to understand the team's progress and cadence.
  • Ensuring technical excellence by guaranteeing our products are built to excellent technical standards, keeping on top of tech debt, security, performance, and resiliency.
  • Providing strong leadership in inspiring and guiding teams to achieve objectives with clear standards and fostering a culture of cooperation and innovation.
  • Leading a continual planning process in a complex environment, identifying dependencies in plans across services, coordinating delivery, and coaching other teams as the central point of expertise.
  • Building and maintaining teams, ensuring they are motivated, collaborating, and working well, identifying problems or issues in the team dynamic, and rectifying them.
  • Communicating between the technical and non-technical, mediating between people and mending relationships, communicating with stakeholders at all levels, managing stakeholder and client expectations, and moderating discussions about high risk and complexity.
  • Applying your experience in multiple parts of the product life cycle, encouraging and facilitating continuous improvement of the delivery team, recognising when it is right to move forward and when it is right to stop, recognising the appropriate deliverables, and the right people to meet them.
About You:

We expect the successful candidate to have a minimum of 3 years' experience as a Software Delivery Manager, Scrum Master, Technical Delivery Manager, or similar role.

Extensive experience in Agile ways of working within a complex business/department is essential, along with proven experience delivering clear, confident written and verbal communication at all levels of an organisation.

Experience in building agile capabilities across multi-disciplined squads is also required, along with previous experience with telematics solutions, which is a bonus.
