About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Compliance Policy & Governance to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing compliance policies and ensuring effective oversight across our global operations. This role involves working closely with various departments to ensure that our compliance policies are robust, current, and effectively integrated into our business practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Policy Development & Implementation:
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive compliance policies that adhere to local, national, and international regulations.
    • Ensure policies are aligned with Checkout's business goals and regulatory requirements.
    • Implement and disseminate compliance policies across the organization.
  • Oversight & Monitoring:
    • Establish and manage processes to monitor compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
    • Establish processes for policy gap analysis and identification of areas for improvement; implement mechanisms for waiver/exception approval and management.
    • Conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure adherence to compliance policies.
    • Identify areas of improvement and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Leadership & Strategy:
    • Develop and execute a strategic plan for compliance policy management and oversight.
    • Serve as a key advisor to senior management on compliance policy and oversight matters.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify and assess compliance risks related to company policies and procedures.
    • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks.
    • Ensure effective controls are in place to manage compliance risks.
  • Training & Education:
    • Design and deliver training programs to educate employees on compliance policies and their responsibilities.
    • Promote a culture of compliance and ethical behavior throughout the organization.
  • Reporting & Documentation:
    • Prepare and present reports on compliance policy effectiveness and oversight activities to senior management and the board of directors.
    • Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of compliance policies, procedures, and oversight activities.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in compliance policy development and oversight, preferably within the payments or financial services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of global regulatory frameworks and compliance best practices.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective compliance policies.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High ethical standards and integrity.
