Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Head of Banking Policy and Compliance to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures related to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (CTF).

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and Maintain AML/CTF Policies and Procedures

Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to AML/CTF, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.

Conduct Annual Risk Assessments

Conduct annual risk assessments to identify potential AML/CTF risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.

Manage Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs)

Receive and assess all internal SARs, ensuring timely and effective reporting to regulatory authorities.

Regulatory Compliance

Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including those related to AML/CTF, sanctions, and transaction monitoring.

Compliance Framework Development

Develop and implement the Compliance Framework, ensuring it is effective in mitigating AML/CTF risks.

Regulatory Returns and Reporting

Complete and submit regulatory returns and reports in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with all relevant requirements.

Record Keeping and Compliance Monitoring

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements.

Complaints Procedures

Ensure that the Bank's Complaints Procedures are correctly followed and reports made to the FCA as appropriate.

Regulatory Liaison

Liaise with regulatory authorities as necessary, ensuring compliance with all relevant requirements.

Financial Crime and Compliance Function Management

Manage the Financial Crime and Compliance function, ensuring it is effective in mitigating AML/CTF risks.

MLRO Annual Report

Prepare and present the MLRO annual report, highlighting key compliance achievements and areas for improvement.

Requirements

  1. Experience in Compliance and Risk Management

Experience in areas of compliance and risk management, with a strong understanding of relevant UK regulatory requirements.

Banking Environment Experience

Ideally experience in a banking environment, with a strong understanding of financial services compliance.

Relevant Qualifications and Certifications

Relevant qualifications and certifications, such as SMF17 and SMF18, or substantial experience operating at a deputy level.
