Job Title: Senior Children's Support Worker

As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and supportive environment that fosters growth, independence, and personal development.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Direct work with young people, key working, and providing day-to-day care and support on a shift work basis.
  • Collaborate with young people, their families, social workers, and other organizations to ensure everyone's needs are addressed.
  • Co-ordinate, monitor, and review Care Plans for allocated young people preparing to transition to adulthood and greater independence.
  • Take responsibility for the upkeep of the establishment, ensuring health and safety, and making autonomous decisions about individual young people's requests and behavior.
  • Administrative work and record-keeping associated with key working responsibilities and the daily running of the home.
  • Empower young people to take control of their lives, keeping them informed of their circumstances and rights, involving them in planning, and supporting them towards greater independence.
  • Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns and report them effectively.
  • Attend to the day-to-day needs of young people, including bathing, feeding, and cooking.
Household Responsibilities:
  • Share in the practical activities necessary to maintain the House.
  • Care for the fabric, equipment, and overall environment.
  • Be accountable for moneys allocated for specific purposes.
  • Report repairs and ensure necessary actions are taken.
Personal:
  • Act as a role model and guide for young people, setting principles and examples.
  • Keep abreast of good practice to develop skills, knowledge, and experience, in accordance with a personal development plan.
  • Make use of regular professional supervision.
  • Report to a line manager or other appropriate person, any malpractice or evidence suggesting it.
Additional Duties:
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by management.
  • Work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays, on a rota basis as required.
  • Be flexible to work at other properties as directed by management.

We follow Safer Recruitment measures. You will be subject to enhanced DBS checks before being offered a placement and should be prepared to volunteer any relevant information on request. You will receive regular and ongoing micro-training to perform your role to the best of your ability.

Requirements to be successful:

  • Experience of working with children/young people in an Ofsted environment.
  • Level 3 CYPW or above.
  • Enhanced DBS Check, and on the update service.
  • Ability to drive.
  • Smart and agile to handle the daily needs and activities of young people.
