About the Role

We are seeking a talented Sports Partnership Strategist to join our team at The Sports Consultancy.

As a key member of our Commercial Partnership team, you will play a crucial role in brokering partnerships for our clients, leading our sales team and growing our commercial department.

Key Responsibilities
  • TARGETED PARTNERSHIPS: Intelligent targeting of potential partners for our clients.
  • Pipeline Development: Proactively developing new leads to establish and develop a pipeline of partnership opportunities for our rights holder clients.
  • Prospecting and Outreach: Completing prospecting and outreach to potential brands to gauge interest in partnership opportunities.
  • Sales Meetings: Engaging directly with brands across key industry sectors to understand their objectives and consultatively sell our rights opportunities.
  • Sales Cycle Management: Managing of sales cycle from research to initial outreach, pitching and closing.
  • Research and Analysis: Conducting research on sponsorship trends, categories, companies, and contacts to support sales activity.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Consulting on a range of projects across other departments and services, including rights holder consulting, rights marketing, brand partnerships and sponsorship consulting divisions.
  • Team Management: Assisting with the ongoing innovation and development of our rights sales optimisation, valuation, prospecting and sales strategies.
Requirements
  • Commercial Awareness: Proven experience in a sales/business development role, ideally within the sports industry but other industries will be considered.
  • Sponsorship Expertise: Experience of brokering sponsorship deals.
  • Industry Knowledge: A very strong understanding of sponsorship and why brands invest in sports sponsorship.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to build sales presentations and deliver them confidently.
  • Sales Performance: A track record of hitting sales targets.
  • Argumentation Skills: Ability to deliver an argument in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Deliverables Quality: Produces high quality deliverables that are well structured, insight-led, robust and accurate.
  • Sport Enthusiasm: Passion for sport.
  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: Enjoy working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
  • Enthusiasm and Energy: Enthusiasm, energy and willingness to meet challenging demands.

The estimated annual salary for this role is £55,000 - £70,000 depending on experience.
