Job Description
Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Specialist to join a vibrant and inclusive primary school in Preston. As a key member of the teaching team, you will provide one-to-one and group support to students who may be struggling academically, socially, or emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to students who may require additional academic assistance.
• Foster positive behaviour and self-esteem in students through various techniques and strategies.
• Collaborate with teachers and SENCO to identify students needing extra support and develop tailored learning plans.
• Contribute to the development of social skills and emotional wellbeing in students, promoting resilience and confidence.
• Assist in planning and delivering interventions to enhance student learning outcomes.
• Monitor and track student progress, maintaining accurate records and providing feedback to teachers and parents as necessary.
• Serve as a positive role model, building strong relationships with students to create a supportive and safe learning environment.
• Support students during class activities, ensuring they remain focused, engaged, and on-task.
• Liaise with parents and carers to keep them informed of their child's progress and areas for development.

Essential Skills & Qualities:
• Previous experience working with children, preferably in a primary school setting.
• Strong communication skills, enabling effective relationships with children, staff, and parents.
• A caring, empathetic, and patient approach to working with children.
• Ability to adapt quickly to individual students' needs and create a positive learning environment.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.
• Proactive, enthusiastic, and flexible approach to supporting students in their learning.

Salary: £25,000 - £32,000 per annum, depending on experience.
