About the Job

We are seeking a highly motivated and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our Special Educational Needs Secondary School in Preston. Our school caters to children aged 11-19 with diverse learning needs, including MLD, SLD, ASD, sensory impairments, and physical disabilities.

This is a long-term role starting as soon as possible, with a daily rate ranging from £88.51 depending upon experience. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting and enriching the learning experiences of all pupils.

  1. Supporting pupils with their learning and personal care needs
  2. Assisting with the implementation of individual education plans
  3. Promoting independence and inclusion within the school community
  4. Collaborating with the teaching team to create engaging and inclusive lessons
  5. Monitoring and recording pupil progress

The ideal candidate will have experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs, a strong understanding of individual needs associated with various disabilities, excellent communication skills, patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's development.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assisting pupils with their learning and personal care needs
  2. Implementing individual education plans to meet pupil needs
  3. Fostering a sense of belonging and inclusivity within the school community
  4. Collaborating with the teaching team to design engaging and inclusive lessons
  5. Maintaining accurate records of pupil progress and achievement

Salary Range: £88.51 per day (dependent on experience)
