Matron Leadership Role in Learning Disability and Autism Service

About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional Matron to provide leadership and clinical expertise in our new specialist acute inpatient mental health service and outreach team. As a key member of the project team, you will be instrumental in the development, implementation, and delivery of the clinical and operational model for the inpatient service.
Main Responsibilities
- Act as a clinical leader, contributing to clinical responsibilities and providing professional leadership within the Learning Disability and Autism unit.
- Set up systems to support high-quality, evidenced-based nursing care and safe, therapeutic environments that promote recovery.
- Line manage nursing staff, clinical, and administrative staff, supporting care delivery and ensuring compliance with national and service quality standards.

Requirements
- RN3 mental health nurse or Registered Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD) with substantial post-registration experience in a variety of settings, including experience as a ward manager or equivalent.
- Demonstrable understanding of the needs of people with a Learning Disability and/or Autism.
- Knowledge of the Mental Health Act (MHA), Mental Capacity Act (MCA), and other relevant legislation.
- Specialist knowledge of recent Department of Health and Social Care policies relating to Mental Health, Learning Disability, and Autism.
