About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust. As a Clinical Lead for Intellectual Disability Services, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and expertise in the assessment and treatment of patients with intellectual disabilities and autism.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in psychiatry, with a particular focus on intellectual disability and autism. You will be expected to work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care and support to our patients.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise in the assessment and treatment of patients with intellectual disabilities and autism
  • Work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care and support to our patients
  • Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of care
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of our service strategy

Person Specification

  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment
  • Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment
