About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Dysphagia Speech and Language Therapist to lead our Community Children's Therapy Team in West Essex.

As the Dysphagia Lead, you will be responsible for providing highly specialist assessment and management of infants, children, and young people aged 0-19 with dysphagia across community settings and in local specialist educational provisions.

You will work closely within the wider Essex Child and Family Wellbeing Service, including the Community Nursing Team, the Healthy Family Team, Paediatric Community Dietitian Service, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Services, and Community Paediatricians.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the dysphagia service through relevant projects and initiatives.
  • Provide clinical supervision and line management to less experienced members of the team.
  • Work closely with external colleagues and partners in Health, Education, and Social Care.

Requirements

  • Qualification or equivalent in Speech and Language Therapy and post-qualification training and experience in dysphagia.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professionals Council and Royal College of Speech and Language Therapy.
  • Valid UK driving licence and access to a car for work purposes.
