This is a challenging and rewarding leadership role for an experienced occupational therapist to manage complex caseloads on acute medical wards, including cardiology and respiratory units. The successful candidate will be part of the team leading and supporting the organisation in a diverse and challenging role, making a significant difference to patients, staff, and the future direction of services.
The estimated salary for this position is £54,500 - £64,350 per annum, depending on experience.
The key responsibilities include managing complex cases, providing leadership and supervision to junior staff, educating occupational therapy students, and maintaining professional development. A degree or diploma in occupational therapy, registration with HCPC as an occupational therapist, and evidence of relevant continuing professional development at postgraduate level are essential requirements. Experience working in an acute hospital as part of an occupational therapy team and/or multidisciplinary team, supervising and mentoring junior staff, and managing difficult conversations are also highly desirable.
