Job Title: Supervising Social Worker - Specialist Foster Care

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervising Social Worker to join our Specialist Foster Care team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assessing potential foster carers, supervising and supporting existing foster carers, and working closely with other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for children in our care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of potential foster carers to ensure they meet the necessary criteria for fostering.
  • Provide regular supervision and support to foster carers to ensure they are equipped to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals, including social workers, foster carers, and other agencies, to develop and implement plans that meet the needs of children in our care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to foster care.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in foster care.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with extensive experience in foster care assessment and support.
  • Strong knowledge of legislation and policies related to foster care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work across the Cheshire West and Chester Borough and beyond.
